About Us

What we do

As someone who has had horses my entire life I have had a true passion for the unwanted and unrideable horses due to either age, injury or behavior. I believe that just because a horse can no longer be ridden does not mean that they do not have a purpose. I enjoy rehabbing horses and giving them a retirement and the best possible sanctuary. We are now offering EAP (equine assisted psychotherapy) program to show just how much these horses still have to give us and how much they help us! We also encourage veterans, military and first responders to come out and work on a therapeutic plan to help overcome mental and physical challenges.

Three Horses

Our Story

We are a non profit 501c3 sanctuary that is dedicated to giving horses the retirement and sanctuary that they deserve until the end. We do not have any paid employees so 100% goes towards our horses and all donations are tax deductible. I also enjoy sharing my passion with others so we also have lesson horses that we use in our lesson program to educate others on how to care for horses, preparing for riding, western riding lessons and nutrition and care of horses including farrier, veterinary and dental needs. On top of our sanctuary and lessons we also take in horses for training!

We depend on donations to care for our sanctuary horses, any amount is extremely
appreciated and goes 100% to the horses and is tax deductible.
Donations can be made via paypal at https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/my/profile
and venmo @houghtonhealingtherapy
Donors are entered into a monthly raffle

We also have sponsorship packages and are always looking for sponsors. If interested please contact for information there are many perks for our sponors and advertisement!
